Let’s make a persimmon matcha latte! Persimmons are sweet and honey-like, with subtle hints of vanilla and cinnamon. When you combine persimmons with matcha, it creates a cozy yet refreshing latte!

Ingredient Notes

  • Persimmon: Try and buy one that’s a bit more squishy, for texture and sweetness
  • Cinnamon powder: An optional addition for taste.
  • Vanilla: Another optional flavoring.
  • Non-dairy milk: I prefer using oat milk or cashew milk.
  • Frauth matcha: Using ceremonial-grade matcha ensures a smooth, non-bitter flavour and vibrant colour.
  • Hot water: Avoid using boiling water for matcha, as it can scorch the powder and result in a bitter taste.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Persimmon Prep

Step 1: Peel the skin of the persimmon off!

Step 2: Mash up the persimmon to break it up and ensure a smoother latte.

Step 2: Add about 2 oz warm water to the matcha and, using a matcha whisk, whisk well until frothy.

Step 3: Place the smashed persimmon into a glass, ice, milk, and finally, add the matcha!
