How to Make Homemade Fudgesicles (Dairy Free & Vegan)
These homemade fudgesicles are the perfect summertime treat. Full of rich chocolate flavor, you’d never believe this frozen treat is healthy! Made with delicious, simple ingredients, and ready in just 10 minutes!
Servings: 8 popsicles
Author: Remy
- 1 1/2 large avocados super ripe, roughly 1 cup mashed
- 1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cacao or cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups plant milk room temp
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 fresh vanilla bean or 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt to taste
- optional add-ins
- pinch of cinnamon
- instant coffee to taste
Start by melting vegan chocolate chips using the bain marie method or microwaving. Add all of your ingredients to a high power blender or food processor, then add melted chocolate and blend until smooth again.
Taste, and adjust to your liking, adding additional cacao powder or maple syrup as desired. Then pour your mixture into your popsicle molds and insert sticks.
Freeze for 4-5 hours or overnight.
Expert Tips
- I highly recommend silicone molds, however, you can also use paper cups (or plastic cups) to make larger pops and insert a fork or chopstick into the cup in place of popsicle sticks. You can also use any other conventional molds (choose your favorite BPA-free brand) with a wooden stick or plastic sticks, depending on what you have on hand. You can also use an ice cube tray for bite-sized vegan fudgesicles.
- If you want to turn this into a scoopable ice cream, try a churner to maintain a softer texture.
- You can always add additional ingredients into your chocolate mixture if desired or make a second batch filled with fun mixins– banana, other fresh fruit, a little bit of peanut butter, or another nut butter, chocolate chunks, chopped nuts, and more! Chocolate peanut butter fudgesicles are definitely calling my name this summer.
Storage Tips
Store these fudgesicles in the freezer in an airtight container for up to a month! Let soften for a few minutes before enjoying. Sometimes after a couple weeks, ice crystals might form. Just lick them off or give them a quick rinse.
If you’re having trouble getting the pop out of the mold, run it under warm water for a few seconds to loosen it up.
