Ginger Lemon Turmeric Immunity Shot Recipe
An immunity shot recipe that tastes great and works hard! These immune-boosting wellness shots help stave off cold and flu season, improve gut health, boost metabolism, and aid in overall health! Simple, plant-based ingredients like spicy ginger, sweet pineapple, turmeric, lemon, and black pepper!
Servings: 8 servings
- 1/2 pineapple plus the core (see notes)
- 4 lemons
- 1-2 pieces ginger palm sized
- 1-2 pieces fresh turmeric 1/2"
- 1 pinch black pepper freshly cracked
Peel and cut pineapple into chunks. Save the core and slice into pieces as well. The core contains the highest concentration of bromelain in the pineapple!
Slice off the ends of the lemons, then cut them in half and then into quarters. Keep the skin on if your juicer can handle it. The peel contains essential oils.
Lightly peel the ginger with a spoon or knife. It's okay if there's some skin remaining as the juicer will filter it out. Repeat with the turmeric root.
Add all ingredients to the juicer and once ready, adjust to taste. For more sweetness, add more pineapple. For more spice and heat, add more ginger. At this point you can add any additional fruits or vegetables too.
Add a pinch of black pepper to the batch, mix to combine then transfer the mixture into individual jars or store in one airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days.
Secrets to Success
- If you don’t have a juicer, add all ingredients to a high-powdered blender and blend them for about 1 minute until they are completely smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or sieve to eliminate any pulp or chunks.
- Feel free to add additional fresh ingredients like orange juice, lime juice, or other citrus fruits, apple cider vinegar, a pinch of cayenne pepper or cinnamon, fresh garlic, coconut water, or additional fresh fruits like mango, more pineapple, etc. For additional sweetness, feel free to add a bit of maple syrup if needed.
Storage Tips
Transfer the mixture into individual jars or store it in one airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
You can also pour individual shots into an ice cube tray and store them in the freezer. Defrost one at a time, and enjoy your immune booster shot!
