Secrets to Success
-
- Flavour: The longer you simmer, the more flavour in the end product! Cook on low, slow heat and partially cover so as not to let too much wine evaporate.
-
- Fruit: You can customize the fruit you add based on what is available and in season. Try dried citrus, fresh citrus, berries, apples, and apple cider for a Fall feel, and other spices and herbs like rosemary, thyme, mint, etc.
-
- Flavor: You can add red grape juice, cranberry juice, or pomegranate juice to add some extra fruity flavor. Adjust the sugar accordingly due to the sweetness of the juices.
Serving Tips
-
- You can prepare this beverage in advance for events/entertaining and then warm it up before serving.
-
- You can also use a crockpot or instant pot to serve out while keeping things warm.
Storage Tips
-
- Put leftover wine in a pitcher or container with a lid and store it in the fridge. Reheat over the stove top when ready to serve. It will keep for up to 3 days if stored properly.
