What is Frosé?

Frosé, or frozen rosé, is a popular frozen cocktail made with rosé wine as the base ingredient. It’s typically blended with ice and other flavorings, such as strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice, to create a slushy, refreshing drink.

This recipe has everything you love about the flavor of conventional frosé, with or without the wine. In fact, the mocktail texture is even better! Regular rosé will not freeze all the way through because of its alcohol content. Using a non-alcoholic alternative, your drink will freeze solid and stay cold longer.

What Makes This Recipe Great

This is the best Non-Alcoholic Frosé recipe that’s slushy, sweet, and perfect for summer. It’s a three-ingredient cocktail that everyone can sip on and relax with. I opted for the mocktail version, but it’s easy to make into a cocktail with your favorite Rosé! It’s seriously my favorite thing, and I look forward to making these summer cocktails/mocktails every year!

This recipe for virgin frosé is a very realistic, super refreshing summertime mocktail. It’s easy to make, with only 3 ingredients, and it’s perfect for entertaining, too.

How to Make Frosé

There are a few ways to make this frozen rose. You can either make rosé ice cubes by freezing rosé in an ice cream mold and then blending them into a slush. Or simply blend the rosé in its liquid state with frozen strawberries and a handful of ice.

Either way, this is such an easy slushie drink to make, and you can also experiment with other berries and summer fruit like peaches, blueberries, raspberries, mango, watermelon, and more!

Ingredient Notes

Here’s what you need to make these refreshing wine slushies. Just a few simple ingredients and a bottle of wine (non-alcoholic or regular) will yield the most delicious frozen treat for hot summer days!

  • Rosé. I found a delicious non-alcoholic sparkling variety to use for this frose recipe called Surely Rosé. You can substitute your favorite rosé, alcoholic or non-alcoholic.
  • Strawberries. You can use fresh strawberry or frozen berries. But frozen will work better if you’re not making ice cubes with the rosé. Use more or less depending on your preference for strawberry flavor.
  • Lemon juice. Use fresh lemon juice to brighten up this drink. You can also use lime juice if preferred.
  • Sweetener. You can sweeten this drink with agave syrup, maple syrup, simple syrup, or another liquid sweetener.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Start by freezing your rosé and reserve 1 cup for later. I used small ice cube trays to make rosé ice cubes, then stored them in the freezer overnight. Keep in mind that if you’re using virgin rosé, because the alcohol is removed, it will freeze completely solid, unlike traditional rosé, which will not freeze completely.
  2. Once frozen, add your rosé ice cubes, fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and sweetener to a high-speed blender along with the 1 cup of reserved rosé. Blend until you have a slushy texture, and adjust the sweetener to taste.
  3. Serve in your favorite wine glasses and enjoy this frozen drink immediately!

  • There are so many ways to make this recipe your own. You can make the strawberry frosé I’ve detailed here, but you can also make watermelon frosé, or use whatever kind of fresh fruit or frozen fruit and your favorite kind of rosé to customize to your preferences.
