As you may know, I am very much a morning person and I’m sharing 5 morning rituals I incorporate into my routine daily. All of these things are energy givers, make me feel more awake in the morning and really increase my productivity. It’s a form of self-care for me, and makes mornings that much more enjoyable. I’ve partnered with 100% Pure to bring you this mini list of some of my favourite go-tos!
Whether you’re a morning person or not, having a routine is a really great way to set yourself up for success. It could be just 1-2 things, or a full on series of things that make you feel your best in the AM!

In my opinion, movement (and specifically sweat) is better than a cup of coffee. Nothing makes me feel more alive in the morning than breaking a sweat and getting my heart pumping. It not only makes me feel great, but also really wakes my face up. The blood flow to the face helps to reduce some of the natural puffiness I might wake up with and gives me some colour too.
My preferred form of movement is a little bit of yoga and stretching plus 45 minutes of high intensity work, whether it’s reformer pilates, lifting weights, boxing or interval training. Even on my busiest days I’ll start the day with 5 basic stretches just to wake my body up and warm my joints up for the day.
After movement, I move on to a little skincare. As a little treat (AKA whenever I have extra time) I’ll give myself a gua sha facial. Similar to movement, the benefit is that it gets the blood flowing and really helps to drain your lymphs. In essence, de-puffing and waking your face up.
One of my holy grail products are under eye gel patches! My favourite patches are the 100% Pure Bright Eyes Masks which are made with cooling cucumber and natural caffeine to de-puff the eye area. The eye masks are made of 95% organic aloe juice and 5% plant cellulose. 100% Pure is one of my go to brands for clean skincare and makeup products because they are not only vegan, but also cruelty free, toxin free and manufactured in the USA.
After the eye gel patches, I will always follow up with the 100% Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream (which smells like a caramel frappucino!!!). The eye cream de-puffs, boosts circulation, and brightens dark circles with caffeine from coffee and green tea. I’ll put this on my under eye area and let it sink in before applying any other makeup.
Another must for me is SPF daily–rain or shine! Actually, even if I’m staying indoors, I’ll typically apply too because I’m sitting with the windows wide open and sun pouring in. Protect your skin, friends!
On most days I’m wearing really light makeup, especially if I’m not filming content. My goal is usually to look a little more awake and that usually means a focus on getting a nice skin glow and waking up the eye area.
Some easy tricks to achieve this look (even if you haven’t gotten a great night of sleep) include colour correcting, rosy-ing up the face and prepping your skin.
I like to start by prepping my skin with a primer. Even if I’m not planning to wear any foundation, it still helps to mattify the skin and create a nice even look. I like the Mattifying Primer which is a silicone-free primer infused with skin-plumping seaweed collagen for a flawless look, followed by the 2nd Skin Correctors. Ultra blendable color correctors made with hydrating olive squalane and natural pigments to banish redness, brighten your complexion, and correct dark circles. I recommend the peach shade to brighten up the under eye area.
Finally, a little blush goes a long way. I like a multipurpose product and the Fruit Pigmented® Lip & Cheek Tint, which is designed for double duty as both a cream blush and lip tint. It is made with vibrant fruit pigments, plus shea and cocoa butters. Tap a little on the highest points of your cheekbones for a natural rosy look and it makes you look that much more awake–trust me!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day (in my book anyway) and it’s my favourite! For breakfast I always recommend something balanced, nutritious and most importantly delicious. Smoothies are great for any busy beans out there, and oatmeal is also a delicious hearty way to start the day. Here are some breakfast recipes to try!
If I can, I always like to make time for a little sunshine in the morning. I love to watch the sun rise, but it’s also helpful for your circadian rhythm to be in direct sunlight in the morning. It’s a great way to expose yourself to natural light especially because nowadays we often are exposed to blue light via screens for a majority of the day!
This was a little peek into a few of my morning hacks, let me know if you have any you swear by!8
