Today I had the pleasure of demo-ing at Food Loves Tech in the FeedFeed x Vitamix test kitchen. I made 3 adaptogenic superfood lattes–a purple sweet potato latte, white chocolate matcha latte and a blue majik vanilla latte. I’ve made these several times before and shared them on Instagram, and I am always asked to share the recipe. Being the add-as-you-go and adjust-by-taste person that I am, I rarely remembered or wrote down the ingredients. I also like to rotate superfood and adptogen add ins, so I never stuck to one recipe.

I wrote these up as guidelines for how I typically make mine, but they are very flexible recipes. You can alter the adaptogens or superfoods, add more mylk to make it thinner, and experiment with additional spices to taste! I’d definitely recommend tasting as you go and adding more of certain ingredients as you see fit, especially with sweetness.

You can make these recipes without a frother. I don’t own one and I just use my vitamix to make things frothy! Anyway, I hope you enjoy these recipes! They are lots of fun and in addition to being colourful and photo-worthy, they are (with the exception of the matcha) caffeine free!

Purple Sweet Potato Latte
– 1 1/2 cup plant mylk
– 1/3 cup steamed + mashed purple sweet potato
– 1-2 tablespoons coconut nectar
– 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
– (optional) pinch of cinnamon

White Chocolate Matcha Latte
– 2 cups plant mylk
– 2 tablespoons cacao butter
– 1-2 tablespoons coconut nectar
– 2 teaspoons matcha powder
– 1 teaspoon maca powder
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blue Vanilla Maca Latte
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 cup plant mylk
– 1 tablespoon cacao butter
– 1 tablespoon maca powder
– 1 tablespoon mesquite powder
– 1 tablespoon coconut nectar
– 1-2 teaspoons blue majik powder

Directions
– combine ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil while whisking. it’s okay if the ingredients like sweet potato aren’t fully broken down.
– if using a vitamix machine, you can skip heating the ingredients as they will heat up while being blended! (exception: melt the cacao butter in advance to make this easier, it’s very very solid at room temp)
– transfer the mixture into a high speed blender and blend on high for about a minute or until fully smooth. this gives it a nice froth too!
– serve and dust with additional toppings like extra matcha powder, extra blue majik. etc.
